During this cleaning day, volunteers will learn the importance of environmental preservation and how to manage waste effectively. They will develop their skills in collaboration and teamwork, enhancing their sense of volunteerism. Additionally, their environmental awareness will increase through direct interaction with the impacts of pollution and methods to combat it.
To participate in this event, individuals are required to wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities, and bring a hat to protect themselves from the sun. Participants should also carry a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Additionally, they are encouraged to bring their good mood, to foster a positive and cooperative environment during the cleanup.
The cleaning day begins with participants gathering at 8 AM at a designated meeting point on the shores of Lake Qaraoun, where attendance is recorded. Following this, a briefing session is conducted to explain the objectives and necessary procedures for the day, and to provide safety tips on handling waste. Participants are then distributed essential tools such as gloves and garbage bags. At 9 AM, participants disperse along the shore to start the cleaning process, collecting accumulated waste that has been carried to the lake by the Litani River. The work continues until 12:30 PM, after which everyone returns to the original meeting point. The day concludes with a closing session at 1 PM, where the achievements of the day are discussed and experiences are shared among the volunteers, enhancing the sense of accomplishment and contribution to environmental protection.
