Nature by Marc Beyrouthy, in cooperation with the Lebanese Reforestation Initiative (LRI), organizes a Forest Fire Preparedness and Prevention Day, as part of the “Protect to remain green” campaign for the World Environment Month, where volunteers actively participate in forest-focused fire prevention activities in reforested sites, and in the forest that was previously exposed to a fire in the village of Maad, Jbeil district. The main goal of the event is to promote community engagement and teach volunteers about the critical roles they play in maintaining forest health and fire prevention safety. Volunteers will participate in practical forestry-related tasks such as clearing roadsides surrounding the forest, as well as forest tree sides, which are necessary to slow or stop the spread of fires. In addition, training will be provided on managing forest lands effectively and strategically placing barriers to protect these vital ecosystems. This initiative not only helps in direct fire prevention but also strengthens the relationship between the community and its local environment, encouraging ongoing conservation efforts.
