On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Care For Me Association, in collaboration with the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI), is organizing a Forest Fire Preparedness and Prevention Day as part of the "Protect it, it stays green" campaign. Volunteers will actively participate in fire prevention activities focused on the Ajaltoun Forest. The main goal of the event is to promote community involvement and educate volunteers about the critical roles they play in maintaining forest health and fire safety. Volunteers will engage in practical forest-related tasks such as clearing the roadsides around the forest and around the forest trees, which are essential for slowing down or stopping the spread of fires. Additionally, training will be provided on effective land management and strategically placing barriers to protect these vital ecosystems. This initiative not only helps in direct fire prevention but also strengthens the relationship between the community and its local environment, encouraging ongoing conservation efforts.
