Sustainable Development Goals

Knowledge gained from this opportunity
Determine the challenges to be faced, i.e. the identified societal problems, who is affected and what are the repercussions on society.

During the preparedness day, volunteers will gain a variety of basic skills necessary for forest conservation and fire prevention. First, they will learn how to effectively establish and maintain firebreaks, which are vital to controlling the spread of wildfires. Second, participants will gain hands-on experience identifying and removing flammable materials from the forest floor, enhancing their understanding of fire hazards. In addition, they will be trained to properly use forestry tools and techniques to manage forests in a sustainable manner. Finally, the day will also provide insights into emergency response strategies, preparing volunteers to act quickly and effectively if fire outbreaks occur, significantly contributing to the safety and resilience of their communities.
