• Learn various waste management strategies, including sorting, recycling, and composting. • Gain insights into the environmental impacts of waste and the importance of sustainable practices in reducing pollution. • Learn how to effectively engage and educate community members about recycling and sustainability. • Understand the processes involved in recycling, including the types of materials that can be recycled and how to prepare them for recycling. • Recognize the challenges displaced communities face regarding waste management and living conditions. • Develop practical skills in sorting recyclables and understanding material categories.
The Waste Management and Recycling Initiative will be implemented over a month. It will commence with an orientation session for volunteers and be followed by biweekly training workshops on waste management practices, sorting techniques, and community engagement strategies. Volunteers will be assigned specific tasks, such as sorting recyclables and conducting educational sessions, with outlined timelines for each activity. We will provide snacks during training sessions to support our volunteers. Regular feedback and mentorship will ensure a meaningful experience while fostering professional development in community engagement and environmental sustainability.
